What Is the Unified Field Theory (UFT)?

The Unified Field Theory (UFT) is a theoretical framework in physics that aims to describe all fundamental forces and particles in the universe using a single, elegant mathematical structure—essentially, one formula or set of equations that governs everything.

⚛️ What It Tries to Combine

UFT seeks to unify:

  • Gravity (described by general relativity)

  • Electromagnetism

  • Strong nuclear force

  • Weak nuclear force

These are the four known fundamental interactions in nature. While the Standard Model of particle physics successfully unifies three of them (electromagnetic, weak, and strong), gravity remains the elusive piece.

? Is It Like One Formula for All Physics?

Yes—in spirit. The goal is to find a single mathematical framework that can:

  • Describe all particles as manifestations of one underlying field.

  • Explain all forces as different aspects of that field.

  • Predict all physical phenomena from one set of equations.

This is similar to how mathematics uses axioms to derive all theorems. UFT would be the "axiomatic base" of physics.

? Has It Been Achieved?

Not yet. Despite efforts by Einstein and many others, a complete UFT remains unfinished. Modern contenders include:

  • String theory and M-theory

  • Loop quantum gravity

  • Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) (which unify three forces but not gravity)

? A More Radical Take?

Some fringe or speculative versions of UFT—like the one by Zhang XiangQian—go further, proposing exotic ideas like:

  • Spiral motion of space

  • Space as an information medium

  • Unified spacetime equations

These are not mainstream but show how far the concept can stretch.
